This is a most original and complete post office from Tennessee.
All glass, decal lettering, finish, door and drawers are original to the piece.
The manufacturer is The Sadler Company of Washington, Indianapolis and Kansas City as shown by the original US Mail label on the front.
Behind the iron cage are two doors that open and close for handling mail.
On the opposite side is an patterned glass door that slides up and down and is lockable at any position as money orders are bought.
A desk extends out the back as a work surface for the postmaster.
Two drawers are located in the desk, one having a cupped till for making change.
Both drawers are lockable with keys furnished.
All postal boxes have combinations and all my be set as desired.
There are numerous cubby holes for accepting other mail. |
